About Site A2

Mining Meets
Grid Responsibility

Site A2 represents a new model of digital asset infrastructure — one that doesn't just consume from the grid, but actively supports it. Built from the ground up as a grid-interactive load, A2 is enrolled in utility demand response programs and can curtail or dispatch its full 12MW of capacity in response to grid conditions.

This makes Site A2 not just a Bitcoin mining facility, but a valuable grid asset — providing flexible load capacity to utilities managing peak demand, renewable intermittency, and transmission constraints.

With expansion to 20MW planned, A2 will grow its role as one of North Alabama's most responsive and reliable industrial demand response participants.

How It Works

Demand Response in Practice

Step 01

Grid Signal Received

The utility issues a demand response event — signaling that load reduction is needed to maintain grid stability, manage peak demand, or absorb renewable surplus.

Step 02

Load Dispatched

Site A2 curtails mining operations, releasing megawatts back to the grid within the contracted response time. Full or partial curtailment is achievable on demand.

Step 03

Grid Stabilized

The utility benefits from a reliable, responsive industrial load that helps balance supply and demand — reducing the need for costly peaker plant operation.

The Synergy South Approach

We view grid-responsive mining not as a constraint, but as a competitive advantage. By participating in demand response programs, Synergy South earns utility incentives, secures favorable power rates, and positions our sites as genuine infrastructure partners — not just load consumers. Site A2 is the proof point for that model.
